Introduction to machine connection with SECS/GEM
Objective:
In this one-day practical training, participants will gain an understanding of the terms used in SECS/GEM, such as spooling, event reports, remote commands and equipment constant. They will also gain an understanding of the structure and format of SECS messages and will therefore be able to understand the content and format of SECS messages. In this context, participants are familiarized with SEMI 05 - and are thus able to work with this SEMI 05 standard. In addition, participants will understand SECS/GEM communication and know the individual steps involved in setting up and initializing the connection between host and machine.
They will also learn which configuration parameters are relevant and how event reports can be linked to collection events in order to transfer the required data from the machine to the host.
Methodology:
Our trainers start with the theory of SECS/GEM. This is followed by a practical part in which the participants are able to apply what they have learned by configuring and commissioning a SECS/GEM connection between host and machine. A simulation of a SECS/GEM machine is provided for this purpose.
Your benefit:
- Machine manufacturers will be able to implement data communication via SECS/GEM to fulfill customer requirements.
- Machine integrators can independently integrate machines with the SECS/GEM protocol.
- Machine managers or machine purchasers of SECS/GEM machines understand the general possibilities of this protocol and how they can map the respective requirements for the integration of the machine with SECS/GEM.
- Process engineers will be able to understand and better utilize the possibilities of data acquisition for their machines, for example to independently adapt the process data to be acquired.
- Participants will be able to understand the SECS/GEM capabilities of the machines as described by the manufacturer, e.g. to compare them with the respective requirements.
- Participants will also receive a wealth of best practices from MEGLA's equipment integration experts and the numerous projects relating to equipment integration with SECS/GEM.
After successful participation, we issue a certificate as proof of the knowledge acquired.
