Spring Season ZIS: Playful Theatre Club (Kindergarten – Grade 1)

This club runs during the ZIS Spring Season from March to May and includes 10 active lessons.

 

In this course, young children explore theatre in its purest form through play, movement, imagination, and simple dramatic games. The focus is on discovering how to express ideas, emotions, and stories through the body and through interaction with others.

 

The sessions are based on principles of jeux dramatiques, a form of playful theatre where children learn by doing, exploring, and creating together. There is no pressure to perform or memorise text. Instead, children develop confidence, creativity, and social awareness through guided play and shared imagination.

 

Through playful theatre activities, children develop:

• self-expression and emotional awareness

• confidence in speaking and moving in front of others

• social skills and cooperation

• imagination and creative thinking

 

The season will end on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, with a shared end-of-season moment for families. Parents are invited to join the children for a playful come-together, where the group will show and share what they have been exploring together through games, movement, and simple scenes. The exact form will depend on the children and their process during the season.

 

This format is especially suitable for children who enjoy playing, moving, imagining, and discovering the world through creative interaction.
